about

During July 2011 we decided we were going to record rough demos of some of our new songs so we could decide what we wanted to do with the the 2nd album and see what was (or wasn't) working. We mic'd up the kick drum, stuck a mic over the rest of the drum kit, a mic on the bass and one on the guitar. We did rough vocals and a rough guitar overdub and that was that.
I'd completely forgotten about these recordings and found them on an external hard drive so I thought I'd give them a bit of a clean up, get a level mix done and put them up on here. Just get them out in the open. They're not going to do much lost in an old hard drive. I also think that if/when Ferocity Lights reconvene, we'll write new songs and won't rely on old songs to base a new album on. The quality is far from perfect and my vocals are pretty shabby but we recorded 5 songs in a few hours of rehearsal. It sounds like what it is - a rehearsal demo! The other 2 songs we recorded that afternoon were "Transmissions" and "Saturday Night". I couldn't see the point in uploading them as we re-recorded them and put them out on the EP we uploaded this year.
It's nice to hear these songs over a set of speakers. I do hope that Ferocity Lights can get around to putting that elusive 2nd record together. I still think we've got a monster record in us!!!
So yeah. "Rehearsal Demo". Rough as fuck. Sounds like it was recorded in a garbage can. In the 1970's. Hells yes.
